I just created an entire 17 minute EP in 7 hours

Instead of a song about the external adversity of being trans, I made one about the internal. I think I want to save this one for the next album.

Wrote this song in three hours. Yesterday was a bad day at work, and I anticipate many more. I wish I lived somewhere less hateful. Just the same, hate won't change me.

Not a proper song, just an experiment, but maybe I should make it one? After playing vaporwave on repeat yesterday, I decided to try to make some of my own instead of going to bed like a normal person. Interestingly, a lot of the same techniques I use in my industrial music applied here too. Namely, push effects passed their breaking points and welcome the distortion it brings. This is a soup of soaking wet reverb, tempo-synced feedback delay, and aggressive compression.

Did a digital ink drawing whilst listening to vaporwave today. I haven't seriously drawn for like two years (and it probably shows) so it feels good to put something out again.

Spent a little time on a tattoo of mine. Been really slow about it because the skin is so tender, there's scars underneath. SOMEDAY I'll finish it. Also the keen among you might've noticed it's the album art of For Atlas

Started a new song instead of finishing the rest :P I realized over the course of the past week that I stand out more when I try to "fit in" than if I just present myself as I am. I've gotten far enough into transition that I look more like a woman than a man, and that is both scary and exhilarating. I can't fake being a cis man to blend in anymore. Guess it's time to work on my voice.

@seeingeye Do you think the vocals are too quiet, or that there are too many effects on them? Or maybe both?

Another from For Atlas. It's definitely the only song of it's kind in my discography. Ambient, dreamy, beatless. It might need more time with mixing because I don't know how to effectively mix something like this, particularly with the vocals. Early on, Atlas used to write me love poetry; and I always said I would too, but never felt inspired. One day, under a tree in winter's light, I looked into their eyes and felt something I can't properly explain. It's like all of the moments passed since we met had led to that moment. Suddenly everything felt so real, and all our future plans felt so tangible. Then, and only then, did I feel inspired to reciprocate. The poem was one thing; but put to music, it brings me right back to that moment. This is what our love sounds like.

@gregsometimes Yeah, I'm really impassioned about this. LIAR took 6 months to get 8 songs. Permanent Damage has taken 1 month.

@gregsometimes Skills learned through game development will teach you how to make better use of your tools. Also it feels really good to have something you created from nothing to show off to people.
