i was taught
by two zen masters,
one who taught
through
posture, eating, clean perfect habits,
from a state of fear.
one who taught

abandonment if i was not present,
needing to say everything that crosses my mind,
and always talking from depth,
from a state of paranoia.
i now prefer taoism,
and in letting go
of them,
forgiveness has blessed me
with clean habits, clean inner seeing with food, and perfectly centered posture,
and
valuing brutally honest truth regardless of consequences,
presence in a deeply seeing and feeling sense,
and the openness to say my deepest thoughts without fear of being misunderstood.
i bring these blessings with me
to my path
whatever that may be,
may it be wonderful,
may i use these blessings
to fulfill gifts for the universe
that only i can bring.

a clear, compassionate, wise heart
